Algebra 2 students will:
1. Use properties and attributes of functions and apply functions to problem situations.
2. Understand the importance of the skills required to manipulate symbols in order to solve problems and use the necessary algebraic skills required to simplify algebraic expressions and solve equations and inequalities in problem situations.
3. Formulate systems of equations and inequalities from problem situations, use a variety of methods to solve them, and analyze the solutions in terms of the situation.
4. Connect algebraic and geometric representations of functions.
5. Know the relationship between the geometric and algebraic descriptions of conic sections.
6. Understand that quadratic functions can be represented in different ways and translate among their various representations.
7. Interpret and describe the effects of changes in the parameters of quadratic functions in applied and mathematical situations.
8. Formulate equations and inequalities based on quadratic functions, use a variety of methods to solve them, and analyze the solutions in terms of the situation.
